Industry research indicates Volvo Penta-powered generator sets achieved CNY 2.32 billion revenue in China in 2025, rising 7.1% year-on-year, outpacing the national average growth rate of the diesel genset sector. Analysts forecast full-year revenue to exceed CNY 2.48 billion in 2026 with a 6.9% YoY increase.

Orders for high-power units ranging from 1000kW to 2500kW accounted for 52.3% of total annual sales, primarily supplied to hyperscale IDCs, regional power substations and financial disaster recovery centers. Forty-seven large-scale contracts valued above CNY 5 million were delivered last year, contributing 61.6% of total revenue, with critical infrastructure clients acting as the core growth driver.

Volvo’s core advantages lie in intelligent monitoring and low long-term maintenance. All new units come standard with Volvo Penta Connect IoT telematics for real-time tracking of oil pressure, coolant temperature and fuel consumption, supporting predictive fault diagnosis. The total cost of ownership over a 10-year service cycle is 22% lower than rival imported equivalents, delivering a 15 percentage point higher ROI, making it the top premium power choice for overseas engineering and export projects.
